A necklace, earrings, bracelet, or ring are just pieces of jewelry. Or are they? Are they not tangible promises, celebratory mile markers of a relationship, physical love, and solidified vows? Jewelry is so much more than the sum of their precious metals and valuable stones. They represent feelings, emotions, memories, and undying love and commitment. Things that most people would not give up willingly. Things that many, would pay dearly to regain if lost, repaired if damaged. That is why jewelry insurance services are offered.
Nobody likes the word “insurance.” It has gained negative connotations over the years that many raise an eyebrow at. The people that have had this service and needed to use it are grateful. They understand the value of the jewelry above and beyond the dollar amount. They pay happily for the assurance that their symbol of affection, that they’re giving, or receiving, is safe from a chaotic world of loss, theft and damage.
The one ring that I wear, my wedding ring, a physical hunk of metal that if lost or damaged, would mean very little… physically speaking. What my wedding ring symbolizes, my eternal love and commitment to my wife, my unspoken vows to honor and cherish her with every breath I take… those are the things that matter to me. If it was lost or damaged, I would want a replacement to remind me of those feelings. Not that I need a ring to follow out those feelings, but relationships are difficult and stressful at times and it’s nice to look down at my hand and be reminded of why I love that girl! That is why I’ll always be open to jewelry insurance services, because the memories and emotions far outweigh its cost.
